January 19, 2038 (KHARTOUM) – Sudanese and southern Sudan on Thursday resumed direct talks on their dispute over oil as Khartoum accused of Juba from the lack of good faith to reach an agreement.
The talks, mediated by the African Union High level Panel (AUHIP), is scheduled to begin in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa on Tuesday.
According to the official Sudan news agency, SUNA, head of the delegation of Sudan, Idriss Mohamed Abdul Gadir, and from southern Sudan, Pagan Amum, met with members of the AUHIP and former President of Burundi, Pierre Buyoya.
SUNA said the meeting agreed to divide any delegates to the three teams to discuss different aspects of the oil dispute.
Countries that recently separated deadlocked in a dispute over transit fees trapped South of having to pay for the use of Sudan oil pipeline infrastructure for exporting.
